How is my assessment graded?

Use this article if you want to know who or what checks your work, when, against which criteria, and what your report contains.

In short

Your work is checked once, at the end of your assessment, by an automated process and validation scripts specific to each lab. No artificial intelligence takes part in this check: it is deterministic, identical for every candidate, and can be audited. What is checked is the final state of your environment and your files, not the method you followed. The result, verification point by verification point, is in your report, available 10 to 20 minutes after the end of the lab.

Good to know

  • Nothing is checked during the lab. There is no tick, no score and no "passed" message to wait for before the end.
  • Each lab has its own validation scripts. They compare the final state of your environment (files, configuration, services) with what each task asks for.
  • Before you click Finish, leave your environment and your files in the state each task asks for. If your allotted time runs out before you click, the state present at that moment is checked normally.
  • In the questionnaire, each answer is saved the moment you give it.
  • You see your full report, with the dimensions assessed and the verification points: what was expected and what was observed. It is available from the link in your invitation email, and from your Scalyz Engineer space (scalyz.engineer) if you linked your invitation to it.
  • Your recruiter can review your work and assess other aspects, outside the Scalyz technical assessment.
  • The report is an input to a decision, not the decision. What happens next with your application belongs to the company that invited you: your recruiter informs you.
  • Scalyz Support does not help with the content of the tasks and does not explain how a specific verification point is computed: that would be unfair to other candidates.
  • If you believe a specific point in your report is technically wrong, report it to Scalyz Support with the task, the verification point, what was expected and what you had done. A Scalyz engineer checks it again.

When to contact Scalyz Support

If you believe a specific verification point in your report is technically wrong, contact Scalyz Support from the help bubble in your Scalyz space, stating the task, the verification point, the expected result and what you had produced. If your report is still not available [TO CONFIRM: 1 hour] after the end of the lab, contact Scalyz Support the same way.

Support replies within 4 working hours, 9am to 6pm Paris time.
