I lost my connection or got disconnected during the assessment
Use this article if, during your assessment, your internet connection dropped, your browser closed, or the terminal or code editor shows a disconnection, and you want to know how to resume and whether your work is kept.
Your environment stays available until your allotted time ends, whatever happens on your side. The files you changed are kept there, and each questionnaire answer is saved the moment you give it. To resume, restore your connection, then refresh the page or reopen the link from your invitation email: you get your attempt and your work back, with no password to enter. The timer keeps running during the outage. If the terminal or editor still does not respond 3 minutes after your connection is back, contact Scalyz Support from the ? Help button.
What to do- Check that your internet connection works again, for example by opening another website in a new tab.
- Go back to the lab tab and wait 1 minute. The terminal and the editor reconnect on their own within 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- If the terminal or editor still shows a disconnection, refresh the page (F5). This does not create a new attempt and does not delete your work.
- If your browser closed or the page does not come back, open the link from your invitation email. It signs you in directly, with no password: you get your lab, your files and your questionnaire answers back.
- If the terminal or editor still does not respond 3 minutes after your connection is back, contact Scalyz Support from the ? Help button right away (see below).
- If the environment is still not back 5 minutes after your connection returned, stop the lab: do not try to continue. Report the problem and wait for our reply.
The terminal accepts your commands, the code editor shows the files you had changed, and the remaining time is displayed.
Good to know- Your environment stays available until your allotted time ends, even if you close your browser or lose your connection. Your files are kept there as you left them.
- Each questionnaire answer is saved the moment you give it. There is nothing to save manually.
- The timer does not stop during the outage. A drop in your connection does not give you extra time.
- Refreshing the page, closing the window or reopening your invitation link does not create a new attempt and does not delete your work, as long as your assessment is in progress.
- The invitation link signs you in directly. There is no account and no password to enter to get back into your lab.
- If files you had changed are missing after you resume, contact Scalyz Support from the ? Help button as soon as you notice it.
- If the message "Session expired" appears, your lab session has expired: see the article "My invitation link has expired or no longer works".
If the terminal or code editor still does not respond 3 minutes after your connection is back, or if files you had changed are missing after you resume, contact Scalyz Support from the ? Help button. If your time has already run out, contact Scalyz Support from the help bubble in your Scalyz space.
The state of your environment is attached to your request automatically. Support replies within 4 working hours, 9am to 6pm Paris time. If a problem on our side stopped you from continuing, this attempt is not held against you and you receive new access. There is nothing to report to your recruiter.
What to include- The time the connection dropped and the time it came back.
- What you observed when you resumed (disconnected terminal, missing files, page not coming back).
- Your browser, and whether you are using a work computer or a company network.
- How you prefer to be contacted: by email, or by phone with your number.
