My invitation link has expired or no longer works

Use this article if your invitation link does not work, if you want to know how long your Scalyz invitation link stays valid, if your link no longer opens your assessment, or if the message "Session expired" appears.

In short

Your invitation link is valid for 7 days by default, counted from the moment your invitation email is sent. Your recruiter can change this duration and can also deactivate the link. Once the link has expired or been deactivated, only your recruiter can send you a new one: Scalyz Support does not renew it without their agreement. If your link is still valid but your assessment does not open, or if the message "Session expired" appears, contact Scalyz Support from the help bubble as soon as you notice it.

What to do

  1. Check the date your invitation email was sent.
  2. If the email is more than 7 days old, your link has expired. Ask your recruiter for a new link. The original link cannot be extended. If your recruiter changed the validity period, they are the only one who can confirm it to you.
  3. If the email is less than 7 days old and your assessment still does not open, contact Scalyz Support now (see below).

Good to know

  • Once the link has expired, only your recruiter can send you another link. The original link cannot be changed or extended.
  • Your recruiter can deactivate your link. In that case too, only they can send you a new one.
  • Scalyz Support does not renew an expired or deactivated link without your recruiter's agreement.
  • Opening your link does not start your timer: it starts when the lab opens, after you click Start Assessment. The link signs you in directly, with no account and no password.
  • The message "Session expired" is not about your invitation link: it means your lab session has expired. If you could not connect to the lab before this message, contact Scalyz Support as soon as it appears.
  • An expired invitation link shows [TO CONFIRM: the exact text shown when the link has expired]. The message "Assessment invitation not found" is a different case: see the article "My invitation link shows "Assessment invitation not found"".
  • If the link opens but your assessment does not start (blank page, "Preparing your workspace" window that does not close), see the article "My assessment does not start or stays on "Preparing your workspace"".

When to contact Scalyz Support

Contact Scalyz Support from the help bubble on the invitation page or in your Scalyz space if your invitation email is less than 7 days old and your assessment does not open, if the page keeps loading without opening the lab 5 minutes after you clicked Start Assessment, or if the message "Session expired" appears when you were not able to connect to the lab. Contact Support as well if your recruiter tells you that your assessment shows as completed or failed when you were not able to access it. Support reviews what happened at the moment you tried to open the lab; new access is sent once the technical problem is confirmed.

The state of your environment is attached to your request automatically. Support replies within 4 working hours, 9am to 6pm Paris time. If a problem on our side stopped you from continuing, this attempt is not held against you and you receive new access. There is nothing to report to your recruiter.

What to include

  • The email address the invitation was sent to, if it is not already shown.
  • What you observed (page still loading, the message "Session expired"…) and the time it happened.
  • Whether your recruiter told you that your assessment shows as completed or failed.
